The Olde English Bulldogge has a well-proportioned body and athletic looks. The breed is active and energetic. The head should be large and square. The Olde English Bulldogge is strong and alert. The jaws are strong with the lower jaw protruding slightly. The muzzle is short. The forelegs can be either straight or bended.
The coat is short and lies closely to the body. Olde English Bulldogges come in gray, black, and brindle. The breed does not shed much. Little grooming is needed. It is recommended to regularly brush the dog and bathe it when necessary.

Olde English Bulldogges are said to be courageous dogs. They are devoted to the family and will protect it in any circumstances. Females tend to be territorial. They will hardly bear strangers or other pets in areas that they consider their own. However, the breed is not aggressive.
Olde English Bulldogges may be reserved with strangers. Though the dog rarely shows dislike for humans other than its owners, it does not approve of close relations with them.
The Olde English Bulldogge likes to be a part of a family. The breed is willing to please its owners and is often very obedient. Olde English Bulldogges are mellow companions and good protection dogs.
