There are a lot of sources where you can obtain a puppy. However, not all sources are equally reliable. Beware of backyard breeders, as they breed for profit, and not for the improvement of the breed. They do not care for perfection, and may breed not very healthy pets.

Pet store puppies cannot boast of an excellent background. Many of their animals came from puppy mills. No one can really guarantee that these pups are free from genetically inherited diseases.
